:: The Sixth Age ::
We've all heard the stories before. Jason and the Argonauts, Hercules (or otherwise referred to as Herakles) and his Twelve Impossible Tasks, the myriad adventures of Odysseus whilst trying to find his way home. Or perhaps, with the movie Troy, the Hollywood depiction of the Trojan War bringing to life the likes of Achilles, Helen and of course, the patheon of Gods/Goddesses gracing the top of Mount Olympus.
So what exactly is The Sixth Age all about?
The Five Ages of Men, as written by Hesiod in his creation story Works And Days, expounds upon the five different stages of mankind and the coexistence with the Gods, from being granted godlike gifts of immortality and the like, to being despised and eventually 'wiped' off the face of the earth for a brand new beginning.
The Sixth Age maps the time thereafter, where most of the Immortals took to the mortal realm to coexist with Mankind, living as one of them. Perhaps it is Prometheus' compassion for Man that had began such a crusade, or maybe it is to keep a closer tab on this second chance for Mankind. Whatever the reason, the Immortals slowly began to move to the mortal realm, assimilating as your next average human being, up to even today.

Here in The Sixth Age, we welcome you to choose your path of existence, be it as one of the Olympic Gods/Goddess, demi-gods, spirits, demons or mortals. There are, of course, certain rudimentary rules for picking an Immortal for play, as per below:
Choosing an Immortal as your RPing character...
Gods, Goddesses, Spirits and Demons. Love them, hate them, most of them have existed for eons and will continue existing (barring any plotted incidents, of course).
Which is why it would generally make perfect sense in stipulating that your choice of such characters be constrained to what/who is already known to exist. In other words, no creating new gods or goddess or hellbeast.
If you think you have a really good original character in mind, however, by all means, run that idea by me, and I'll see if it'll make enough mythological sense to grant it life.
That said, please check here for the rules of play for Immortals.
Choosing a Mortal as your RPing character....
So you want to be human, eh? Woot!
Of course, being Mortals, you can't grant your characters godlike traits. We aren't living in the Golden Age, you know. Mortals are paramount to the room as this is, after all, about the Age of Prometheus, the coexistence of the Immortals amongst Man. The interaction between the two is important, providing the necessary conflicts and tribulations both sides will face.
And of course, there will be room-scale plots that will require massive involvement from both sides.
Still not sure being a Mortal will be as fun as an Immortal? Well, think then of where all the mythical heroes came from. Some may have had the blood of some philandering *koff*Zeus*koff* god in them, but essentially, the great heroes like Perseus, Odysseus and Jason had been mortals. So who knows? Maybe it'll be your character's turn to be a hero(ine) one day.
